TIPS for Selling Your Home in the Winter
- Turn up the HEAT. We were showing a home in Riverwalk last week in Chesapeake and it was FREEZING. If it is cold in your home, buyers will not stick around. You want them to feel comfortable enough to look at every room.
- Limit the Christmas decorations. A tree and some other decorations are fine, but just like any other time, the more clutter, the harder it is to see your home. You want them to see your home, not your decor. We tell our sellers that all we want is for their home to look like a model 😉 And, we help.
- Open all the window blinds and turn on all your lights. It is dreary in the winter. You want buyers to see a light, bright home.
- If you have time, make some cookies or bread. People love the smell or fresh baked goodies!
If you are thinking about selling your home, put it on the market now. Don’t wait till Spring. Buyers are out now.
We will be in town for the holidays and would love to talk real estate with you. If you would like to schedule a buyer or seller meeting with us, please feel free to call Suzi directly at 757-724-1064 or send us a note here.
