We have good news & bad news! The good news is our inventory is steady getting smaller. We are at about 8 months which is 2 months away from a normal market. The bad news is distressed properties (short sales, foreclosures, and bank owned homes) have been steadily increasing since July 2011. (more...)
When NAR, National Association of Realtors, released how many homes sold this month, Steve Harney did some simple math and took their annualized number and divided it 365 and found we are up 18.6% as compared to last year.
So...13,780 Homes sold YESTERDAY.
13,780 sold TODAY.
13,780 will sell tomorrow.
What about locally? On the Peninsula and Southside, we are UP 21.9% compared to last year, according to REIN, which is our local MLS.

September 2011 Summary
Listings
Residential active listings decreased, 16.6% year-over-year, to 12,894 (September 2011) from 15,467 (September 2010). This is normal for this time of the year. Will we see the flood of listings come on the market around April/May. The listings still on the market are the ones that need to sell. Others will withdrawal their listing and wait till Spring.
